Ni Hao (Nee How)!
In the past few weeks everything has come together. We received Noah's passport (YAY!!!), I signed my contract and sent it back FedEx (cost me $56 for a couple of pages!!), finished up my duties at Magnolia West, purchased our plane tickets (one way for Noah & I and round trip for mom), and began selling off our stuff.
The next couple of months will be spent visiting with family and friends, trying to keep it as close to normal for Noah...yeah right, lol. I can only imagine how much harder this will get for him as he sees our stuff gradually disappear from his life :( We plan on selling pretty much everything except for a couple boxes of stuff - mainly Noah's that we will have FedExed over (its crazy expensive!) We will also be spending this time getting ready to go...selling old stuff, purchasing new stuff.
Our departure date is now official...our flight leaves Houston at 5:45 pm on July 29, 2010. We fly first to LA. From LA we fly to Seoul, South Korea, then to Qingdao. Due to time differences we will arrive in Qingdao at 9:00 am on July 31st. Mom is going to spend that first week with us. She will return on the 8th of August.
I will continue to post things throughout the summer as our move approaches. I am about 100% sure that this blog will be blocked in China, so I will not be able to update it from there. However, I have been told that I may be able to keep a blog some how but I won't know until I get there. I will still be able to email, Skype, text, and instant message however. So China is not going to close me off from the whole world completely, lol. I know some of ya'll are worried about that!

Hey Rachel I am so proud of you for your courageous move! I bookmarked your blog at home because sometimes blogs are blocked from grown ups who don't have hacking skills by technology. Stay safe. Noah will adjust and return fluent in Chinese (dialect not really known) A definite plus for college entrance! Send an email to my work address and I will send you my home email. Sherri W.
